Goldman Sachs stated in a new report that the lightning fast adoption of LEDs in lighting is one of the fastest technology shifts in human history.
In the U.S. alone, the accelerated deployment of LED lighting is on track to save consumers and businesses $20 billion a year in electricity costs within a decade. This would lower U.S. CO2 emissions by some 100 million metric tons a year.
In commercial and industrial lighting, LED offers substantial savings to the bottom line for existing industries and opens up new opportunities for new types of businesses never before feasible.
