BIOS Biological Static Solutions
BIOS Biological Static LED Light Engines are designed for daytime applications. BIOS Static Biological LED features key BIOS SkyBlue™ (490nm) for maximum daytime circadian impact. BIOS Static Biological LED Light Engines are available in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K. Lighting controls with BIOS Static Biological LED Light Engines are easy — simply switch the lights on/off or the lights can be dimmed using a single-channel constant current (CC) LED driver with any standard dimming interface.
Applications
- Spaces occupied primarily during the daytime ~7am – 7pm.
- K-12 Schools / Higher Education
- Offices
- Daytime Adult Care Facilities
- Medical Offices

BIOS Biological Dynamic Solutions
BIOS Biological Dynamic LED Light Engines are designed to transition from daytime to evening. The daytime CCT includes full BIOS SkyBlue™ (490nm) for maximum daytime circadian impact, the evening spectrum removes BIOS SkyBlue™ (490nm) altogether, providing a minimal circadian stimulus in the evening.
BIOS Biological Dynamic Light Engines are available in 3000K (dim to 2700K evening spectrum), 3500K (dim to 3000K evening spectrum), and 4000K (dim to 3500K evening spectrum). Simply dim the lights in the evening to remove the daytime SkyBlue wavelengths (490nm) and convert your lights from day mode to night mode. BIOS Dynamic Biological Light Engines must be paired with the BIOS Bio-Dimming™ Module which allows intensity and spectrum to be controlled together, via a single channel. The Bio-Dimming Module wires directly to a constant current (CC) LED driver and BIOS Dynamic Biological Light Engines interface with any standard dimming protocol (0-10V, ELV, DMX, Wireless).
Applications
- Spaces occupied overnight (~ after 7pm and before 7am)
- 24-hour spaces
- Shiftwork
- Hospitals
- Senior Living, Memory Care, Alzheimer’s + Dementia, and Assisted Living
- Higher Education, including student and staff Areas occupied after 7pm
- Workplace, including areas occupied after 7pm
BIOS Biological Tunable White
For single-channel control, BIOS Biological Tunable Light Engines must be paired with the BIOS Bio-Dimming™ Module which allows intensity and spectrum to be controlled together, via a single channel. Simply dim the lights in the evening to remove the daytime SkyBlue wavelengths (490nm) and convert your lights from day mode to night mode. BIOS Biological Tunable Light Engines with single-channel control can be used with standard dimming interfaces/protocols (0-10V, ELV, DMX, Wireless).
BIOS Biological Tunable White Light Engines are available in 3000K (dim to 2700K evening spectrum), 3500K (dim to 2700K evening spectrum), and 4000K (dim to 2700K evening spectrum). For two-channel control, BIOS Biological Tunable Light Engines do not use a BIOS Bio-Dimming™ Module. In two-channel applications, intensity and spectrum are controlled independently. BIOS Biological Tunable Light Engines with two-channel control can be used with standard 2-channel LED drivers and standard dimming interfaces/protocols (0-10V, ELV, DMX, Wireless).

BIOS Bio-Dimming™ Module
Our industry-disrupting technology is compatible with standard dimming and control protocols, easy and inexpensive to install, and available through a range of our Illuminated Partners to suit your project’s needs and design.
SkyBlue™ Technology
Far-red lighting helps identify illnesses via cyanosis observation.
When photoreceptors in the eyes receive 490 nanometers, they communicate to the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (the body’s clock) that it is daytime, and biological responses follow, such as increased energy and avoidance of melatonin release.
